English Anglican bishop who served as the 100th Archbishop of Canterbury from 1961 to 1974. Upon his retirement, he was made a life peer and took the title of Lord Ramsey of Canterbury.
He had planned to be a lawyer, but changed his mind and was ordained in 1929.
