An American writer and neuropsychiatry researcher, he co-authored the landmark LGBT publication, After the Ball: How America Will Conquer Its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the ’90s. He also published a 1987 essay entitled The Overhauling of Straight America.
He graduated from Harvard University in 1980 with a degree in psychology.
He was the associate editor of The Mayflower Descendant, and he also worked as a librarian for the New England Historic Genealogical Society.
