Academy Award-winning actor who played The Cisco Kid in the 1929 film, In Old Arizona. He also starred in the 1926 film adaptation of The Great Gatsby and The Awful Truth.

He sold insurance and worked as a sales manager before launching his acting career.

He received the second ever Best Actor Award in 1929 for his role in In Old Arizona, and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Pneumonia caused Warner Baxter's death in 1951.

Baxter suffered from arthritis for several years, and in 1951, he underwent a lobotomy as a last resort to ease the chronic pain. On May 7, 1951, he died of pneumonia at age 62 and was interred in Forest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Glendale, California.
